Chambers Rejected Again from Major British Meets

It is an unfortunate year for Dwain Chambers, whose hopes of finally rekindling his track career had been smashed, when he was excluded from three of the UK Athletics'big summer events.

Rajne Soderburg, the Euromeetings leader had recently announced that Chambers, among other previous drug takers will not be able to participate in any of the 51 meetings held by the UK athletics.

Chambers had also been told that he is not allowed to appear at any of the three major Norwich Union meetings that will be held in Glasglow, London and the Post-Olympic Gateshead Grand Prix.

Despite this, the UKA had admitted that they do not have the constitutional rights to prevent Chambers from participating in the United Kingdom Championships to be held from July 11 - 13, which also serves as the Olympic trials. Additionally, the Manchester championships are also open to qualified club runners, which enables Chambers to participate officially.

Chambers has chosen to be defiant however, and plans to challenge the British Olympic Association verdict of banning all anti-doping violators from racing in Great Britains colors at the Games, but as a fully-paid member of the Belgrave Harriers, this ruling is calling to be disputed.

As it stands, the UKA is trying their best to prevent Chambers from racing, and is looking forward to new legislation to stop him from participating.

Of course, they clarify that their efforts are not borne of personal grudges-- it's just that drug cheats have caused much damage in their recurrences and its time to take action and give a firm message to all athletes everywhere.
