Dylan Ferris to Run for Stanford
Dylan Ferris, a senior at East Forsythe High School, is considered to be one of the nation's top middle-distance runners. He had taken an official visit to Stanford mid-October to assess what he needs to make it to the aforementioned Ivy League school. His intention to run for Stanford is met with much delight by the said Ivy-League school, and lamented by the other colleges who also wanted to recruit him.
Ferris has excellent records in his 800 to 1,600 meters, and despite the number of college choices he had, he was rather sold on Stanford after his visit. He is a heavily recruited student, as his running skills would be the prize of many schools.
Ferris was the 2006 and 2007 Class 4-A outdoor state champion in 800 meters, who also won the outdoor 1,600 meters and the indoor 1,000 meters in 2007. He had ran elite times last year in the 800 and mile, and had even been selected to run the 800 with the Team USA in the IAAF World Youth Championships in Ostrava Czech Republic last summer.
As a runner with highly coveted skills, Ferris was offered scholarship by a lot of universities, but he had claimed to see all he need in Stanford. He minds the sacrifices of crossing the country but he believes he will get his ideal education and formation of character from Stanford.
